First off you have to make sure you have a Compatible Cable and that your Quest is updated to the most recent firmware. So, I thought why not make the Best and Ultimate illustrated guide on How to use Oculus Link that will tell everything about Oculus link and how to use it and left no space for confusion. You can connect your Oculus link with the quest in just 4 easy to follow steps, which is so easy that it will take you only minutes or less to set up Oculus link.
And that software is Virtual Desktop. There are only 3 super easy steps to follow in order to play Alien Isolation in VR.

If a human third eye is supposedly a manifestation of psychic powers, then what can a third eye mean on an alien?
It looks way cooler than a stubborn zit or even a few freckles. Make other Sims uncomfortable with your extra line of sight and become a walking anomaly in your neighborhood. Skynet may be created by human hubris. But its goal to wipe humanity through a nuclear holocaust is an alien standard. Rather than focusing on style, survival is at the core of any space-appropriate attire.
Which surprisingly includes skin-tight suits that any Totally Spies member would dig. Melee: NPC:A much heavier impact. Player:Like being hit by the Alien. Stun: Driod:Stun. NPC:Only stop their movment for a sec. EMP: Droid:Disabled. Object:Minor impact. Blind: Droid:None. There are obviously more parameters of interest, but I do not know them really at all.
So what follows is highly speculative, with little testing history done. Click here to read more and download! BML file. Unfortunately this file is not compatible with the AlienBML tool that we used in previous sections to extract and repack the game's BML files. However, there is a workaround that you can use to allow the tool to read this file. BML keeping a backup of the original.
Alternatively, you can use the AlienBML. BML download. Place the AlienBML. This program will convert your XML to BML and save it as the correct name so you can instantly test your changes in-game. This software allows the developers to create flowcharts behaviour trees of how characters in-game should react to events that happen in the game world E. You can see an example Brainiac XML file here [github.
BML file in Isolation. So where to start? Obviously this file is incredibly complex with a lot of different things in it since it comes from a visual editor and isn't necessarily meant for plain text editing. Luckily for us though, it's pretty neatly laid out and shouldn't be too hard to understand.
The hardest thing to understand is exactly what every AI state does, but that shouldn't be too difficult since they are all named appropriately.
I can't really advise on anything specific, since the file covers such a wide range of behaviours, so all I can recommend is for you to mess about with it yourself. Always keep an original backup of your file though just in-case you make a mistake in your newly edited version - which is probably very likely! Good luck! It's great fun to mess about with this file to see what effects it has on the way the AI behaves.
Anyone had luck getting it to start yet? It crashed after I enabled the steamVR but eventually realised I had to have steamVR running before going into the game. I have the game intro turned off. Tried SteamVR beta, in case that was the issue, but the game still crashes. Tried changing the video resolution settings from Fullscreen to Windowed Mode, in case that helped, but it didn't—still crashes.
Also make sure to have SteamVR active before launching the game. If your game is still immediately closing, and seems to work fine with previous versions, and you've already done the above, let's see if we can get any crash dump from it if it's actually crashing, and not Steam doing something dumb like force closing it.
To do that, you first download ProcDump from Microsoft which can be found here. Double click on the. So then you start up Alien, and if it crashes, this program should create a AI. I got VR to work.
But only by creating a new administrator user account on Win Everything seemed to work perfectly after few minutes of play! It means that something in my main user account messes up the VR mod, but no idea what. Nibre , Thanks! I will try the game with ProcDump on my main User Account if it gives any clues what causes the crash. ProcDump did not seem to help my case. It only printed out: [] The process has exited. Nibre Thanks - ProcDump gives out the following before the game closes:.
Edit: I also tried creating an additional admin account as with ZalamanderFI - but no dice on that one either. This worked for me! Thanks, Nibre! Alien: Isolation is now even more amazing! You're a champion!! Haven't tried older versions. Multiple processes with the name AI. And checked, 0. I've tried everything suggested in multiple forums and have no idea whats wrong.
I had the same issue on the Rift and I actually fixed it with another mod. I'd post the link but I only have a couple seconds and a Google search should be all you need.. It's a TAA injection mod that actually gets rid of all jaggies in the game and makes the VR version look even better. No clue why it fixed my issue but it's worth a shot. The TAA mod itself can cause random crashing but if that happens try using an older build, that worked for me.
The latest build crashes every 5 min but the one prior will run forever. Also disable super sampling in steamvr along with the feature they just added that I can't remember what it's called sorry but it's in the dev options.
I recently upgraded to a new PC with a completely different set of specs to the one I was using when I first encountered this issue. I tried running the 0. I'm unsure what the issue could be though since I tried cycling pretty much every VR setting I could think of, including disabling the Desktop Theatre. I also tried the solution proposed by d0x but sadly no luck there.
What peripherals do you have by chance, keyboard mouse headphones? Anything by razer per chance? That was before it suddenly stopped working for me. I got it working again but then it stopped again a few weeks later until I found the TAA injection mod. What I actually did to fix it was to end razer chroma sdk and any other unnecessary programs, and after that it worked. I've found razer software to be a major pain with other software. Turns out that, when installing the game, I had actually forgotten to disable the Steam theater setting.
Doing so fixed the issue and 0. So the issue is now resolved on my new PC. However, since my original PC was never able to run it even with theater mode disabled, I can't say for sure what the original problem was.
We all do silly stuff like that, glad you got it working. If you aren't using the TAA injection I highly recommend it. It removes all the jaggies and delivers a very sharp image and it looks especially nice in VR because supersampling alone can't get rid of jaggies on the alpha effects which are easily noticed on save stations. The VR mod is also compatibile with unpredictable alien as well as the mod that adds planar reflections and enhances some other effects.
